A special False Creek friend – Danielle Clarke

Danielle Clarke – Vancouver eco yoga instructor

A month ago False Creek Friends got an email truly “out of the blue.”
Danielle Clarke, a yoga instructor living in Vancouver with a master’s in Environmental Education and Communication, wrote us with one of the loveliest offers we have received.

“On Earth Day I would like to give you 50% of all donations collected for an outdoor yoga session and beach clean-up,” she wrote. “I develop and facilitate yoga-inspired eco offerings motivated by my passion for the outdoors and my professional and academic knowledge.”

Today – through the magic of a frictionless Interac transfer, $150 showed up in our nonprofit’s bank account – but equally inspiring is all the garbage Danielle’s friends collected at the beach.

If Danielle’s passion for the outdoors resonates with yours, you too can be a False Creek Friend. We’re working on a variety of conservation fronts to help all those who would like to see our slender sliver of the Salish Sea returned to a more vibrant, biodiverse condition. Right now we’re still signing up volunteers for our Light Trap project. We’re working with Raincoast Conservation Foundation to improve the quality of water in False Creek by studying what’s flowing into it from the “ghost streams” that still flow underground.

And if you have an idea to help us gather resources for this precious natural entity we call False Creek, please write us at info@falsecreekfriends.org as Danielle did!

And Danielle – please let your participants know how much we have appreciated everybody’s generosity!
